Products on Beauty Behind The Bar

I want to make it very clear that as a beauty community, we should all have a certain level of trust toward the bloggers and vloggers that we admire, look up to, and work alongside. It has become apparent over the last few years that sponsored content is everywhere, and I have become very wary and very sceptical about the kind of advice I accept as a result.

Any and all products that I feature on my blog have either been purchased by me or given to me as gratis when I worked in a beauty store, unless otherwise specified. Any time I would attend a seminar for a new cosmetic line for any of the brands that I used to sell, I would typically receive a bag of freebies from the brand as a thank you for attending. That being said, I am very open about which products those are/if any, and no one has paid me to promote these brands or their products; I keep the ones I like and usually gift the others to friends and family (you're welcome Mom!)

Any products that have been sent to me for review will be marked with an asterisks (*) so that you are well aware from the beginning that I did not go out and purchase them myself. I've always been honest in my opinions of products and their respective brands so I remain true to those ideals by only praising products I would honestly go out and purchase myself.

Working in the beauty field has taught me much about professionalism in the industry, and I would never bash a brand, product, or service if I didn't like it. Keep in mind that if I don't like a product, it does not necessarily mean it is a bad product. I try to list the pros and cons of everything I review.

Skimlinks

I use Skimlinks, which means that I earn revenue through products that I link to on my blog. If you are a blog owner and are interested in Skimlinks, it's a great way to monetize some of your content without being sponsored. Skimlinks has affiliations with most online stores, and it's a great way to take care of some extra expenses that you blog might run up.

Here's a little more on that:

“This site earns revenue using Skimlinks. In the interests of disclosure and ethics, we want to be open about how we make money from our site. Besides display advertising and other paid sponsorships, we also sometimes get paid a commission if you purchase a product or service that we link to in our content. We want to be clear that our reviews are driven entirely by our editorial staff based on what we think. We use Skimlinks to help us automate the process of linking to products, especially as it distances our editorial staff from creating affiliate links themselves.”
