I'll just say it. I'm a berry-lip fiend. Everyone has their niche. Some like nudes, some like browns. Some like pinks, and some are chameleons with their lippies. I love vamps. I don't know what it is, but cool-toned, dark berry lip colours just make me feel so on top of the world. I think Autumn is my favourite season not for the colours, not for the fashion, but simply, if nothing else, for the sheer fact that berries are everything in that season.
Today I want to share with you my top four favourite berry lip products. I have one of every 'kind' for you, I've got a lipliner, a matte lippie stick, a drugstore, and a high-end. Let's get started!

I bought this lipstick quite a while ago, and to look at it before swatching, it looks ridiculous. It looks like the vampiest purple/black at first glance, and I feel like it would scare people away! To be honest, if I didn't work as a cosmetician, I wouldn't have picked this up at all. Anyone in retail knows that there are days that are just so slow you practically invent things to do to keep busy. I often went around swatching things I normally wouldn't. I swatched this one day and just fell in love.
I think the name 'black tie' is a perfect name for this lipstick. It's vampy and it's luxurious. This lipstick is actually quite sheer in its application. It looks very dark in the tube, but because of its formula when it actually glides onto the lips, it comes out to a very purple/dark red plum shade. It's quite glossy as well, which is nice because it's also very hydrating.
BLACK TIE | BLACK CHERRY | LBB | MAUVELLE
This is a lipstick that, before I picked it up, I convinced myself I didn't really need it. It's quite similar to the Dior lipstick in terms of colour, but the formula is very different. Part of the reason I kept telling myself I didn't need this lipstick was because I already had my Dior one, but the more I swatched Black Cherry the more I could see vast differences. It's quite a lot more purple, and of course it's not sheer so the colour payoff is incredible.
I actually had quite mixed feelings about this lippe stick when I ordered it and it came in the mail. I'm still quite stuck between incredibly impressed and slightly disappointed, and I'll tell you why: the colour of this lippie stick, on the website and on the packaging, looks to be like a dark warm plum shade, but, when swatched, actually comes out more of a lighter red pink.
It's still a berry tone, but I'm more of a fan of dark vampy shades, and this one was lighter than I'd anticipated. Now that being said, the quality of this product is amazing. Colourpop's lippie stix (super cute name) are only $5.00 and this one is matte, which I love. As you can see in my swatches, the other lipstick shades have a few clumps (which is normal) but the lippie stick is smooth as a baby's bum. I don't know how Colourpop does it for the price they do, but I love it.
This is my favourite lip liner ever. I wear this one almost every day because it 'plums up' any shade I wear. Its formulation is very smooth and not too waxy, but it definitely makes any lipstick or lip product I wear look better.
Sometimes I actually wear this lip liner just by itself-- if I want a somewhat muted, matte, but still-berry lip colour, I'll just line and fill in my lips with this liner, it looks great. The only thing I dislike about it is that I need to sharpen it a lot, and because I'm lazy, I end up using this liner down to a nub.
